Transform Descriptions into Structured Content
CareerCove's AI Generation feature allows you to build complex sections of your resume—like work history, education, and certifications—simply by describing them in plain English. Instead of manually filling out every field (dates, titles, descriptions), you can tell the AI your story, and it will intelligently parse your text to generate structured data objects automatically.
The "Review & Refine" Workflow
This tool is designed to be a complete time-saver, taking away the grunt work of establishing a full and rich resume.
However, AI is a starting point, not the finish line. After the text is generated, you can (and should!) go back into the editor to refine and adjust the details. This ensures the content perfectly matches your reality, uses your authentic voice, and highlights your unique achievements.
How It Works
The "Popup" Generation Flow
When you see the "Generate with AI" button (often with a magic wand icon ) in sections like Work Experience or Education, here is what happens:
Click the Button: A popup dialog will appear asking for a description.
Describe Your History: Type or paste a paragraph describing your experience (e.g., "I worked at TechCorp from 2019 to 2021 as a Senior Dev...").
AI Analysis: Our AI analyzes the text to identify key entities like dates, job titles, school names, and degrees.
Object Generation: The system creates structured "child objects" (e.g., a Role object with Start Date, End Date, and Title pre-filled) and adds them to your resume.
Supported Sections
The AI Generation feature is available for these complex sections:
Roles: Generates job titles, dates, descriptions, and current employment status from an employer history description.
Education: Extracts school names, degrees, fields of study, and graduation dates.
Certifications: Identifies certification names, issuing organizations, and validity periods.
Volunteer Work: Parses organization names, roles, and impact descriptions.
Awards: Extracts award titles, issuers, and dates received.
